Movies and Sci-fi novels always get time-travel wrong. They go immediately to the “I’ll use it to save my girlfriend from death,” or the “I’ll use my knowledge of the future to become rich and powerful.”
Sometimes they even try pulling “I’ve gone back to make amends and become a better person.” And they even get that wrong. I’ve always wanted to time-travel in order to change the little mistakes and blunders that I’ve made my whole life. I’m much more concerned with hurting the feelings of an eight-year-old for five seconds than I am about my financial problems. And damn it, I want to be a podcaster back when it was new and special.
Maybe if a twenty-five-year-old Kyle grabbed me by the shoulder and said, “Don’t fucking do that!” I wouldn’t need to write this. I would just broadcast it directly to your brains along with the comic.
…Because I would have invented that. With the proper guidance. From myself.
Shut up.
